homemade fries

Honestly? Is there anything better than a pile of fries and a side of ketchup? Seriously… I could live on just that. Especially really good fries. And, thanks to the air fryer, these fries taste just like the ones you get as an appetizer at your favorite restaurant. The ones you always have to order, even if you shouldn’t.

Ingredients:

3 large white potatoes, sides peeled, cut lengthwise and into 1/4 inch wide strips.

1 tsp salt, more to taste if needed

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp trader joe’s onion salt

2 Tbsp evoo

Maldon finishing salt

Directions:

Preheat air fryer to 400.

Prepare a large bowl of ice water. As you cut the potatoes, place them in the cold water.

Drain water and pat off potatoes. Toss with evoo and salt, paprika, and onion salt. Add to air fryer. Toss every 5 minutes. Cook for approximately 20 minutes or until golden. Sprinkle with finishing salt.

To adjust for oven. Preheat oven to 450. Lay out potatoes on rimmed baking sheet, and place on bottom oven rack. Cook for 15 minutes. Move to top rack and cook for an additional 5 minutes… or until golden brown on both sides.
