pizza dough

There is nothing easier than a homemade pizza bar. It’s one of my most favorite meals, because it allows everyone to customize their own meal to their own taste. Want sauce? Have it. Don’t like sauce? Brush on some olive oil and take it from there. At the end of the day, everyone is happy, because everyone is able to have exactly what they want on the plate.

The best thing about a pizza bar, is the dough. And the following might just be my favorite homemade dough recipe.

Ingredients:

2 packages of active dry yeast

1 Tbsp honey

1/2 cup warm water

3 cups bread flour

2 cups all purpose flour

2 tsp kosher salt

1/4 cups evoo

Directions:

Mix yeast, honey and water together until combined. Let sit covered for 10 minutes until yeast is activated.

In a separate bowl, whisk bread flour, all purpose flour, and salt together to combine.

In a stand mixer, knead yeast mixture, flour mixture, and evoo for 10 minutes.

Cover with a damp towel and let rest until size doubles (about 45 minutes).

Turn out onto floured surface and form 6 even sized balls. Cover again for 15 minutes.

Form balls into pizza crust, or refrigerate, wrapped in saran wrap for later use.
