cranberry sauce

While I must admit, I prefer the canned stuff (shocker, it’s true)… not everyone does, and I do make my own as well.

Ingredients:

2 lbs fresh cranberries, rinsed and squishy ones tossed

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup grand marnier

1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice

zest of 1 orange

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a medium sized sauce pan. Cover with water.

Bring liquid to a boil. Turn down to simmer, stirring consistently, until all liquid has been absorbed and cranberries have popped, and jellied.

Let cool. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

This is a great one to make a couple of days ahead, as the flavors will only get better.
