holiday sparkling sake sangria

Y’all know I love a good themed sangria. And this one, is no exception.

Here we use fall fruits, persimmons and pomegranates, some thyme, local honey, and a sparkling sake to really round out the right flavors.

It tastes like fall in a glass.

Ingredients:

8 persimmons, bottom and tops removed, sliced

1/2 pomegranate, arils removed

1 tbsp local honey

8.5 fl oz bottle of sparkling sake

6.8 fl oz bottle of ginger beer

1 bottle of sparkling brut

4 sprigs of thyme, extra for glasses

Directions:

Add sliced persimmons and pomegranate arils to a pitcher. Add honey, sake, and ginger beer. Stir to combine. Add thyme.

Let sit in refrigerator for 4 - 8 hours before serving. Add sparkling wine and stir before serving.

Add additional thyme sprigs, some of the sliced persimmons and pomegranate arils to each glass.
