spiked peppermint mocha

My standard starbucks order is a venti white chocolate mocha, coconut milk, no whip. During the holiday season, that always changes to a venti white chocolate peppermint mocha, coconut milk, no whip.

Adventurous, I know.

Which brings me to my new favorite holiday drink, which basically takes my favorite starbucks order, kicks it up several notches, adds some alcohol, and becomes the perfect addition to nights by the fire.

It also smells fantastic, so it’s got that going for it too.

Ingredients:

6 oz heavy cream

3 oz white chocolate bar

2 oz peppermint schnapps

4 oz kahlua

4 oz bailey’s irish cream

2 candy canes, crushed

extra bailey’s for glass

Directions:

In a small sauce pan, heat cream and chocolate on medium, until melted and combined.

Pour a small amount of bailey’s on a saucer. Dip glasses in bailey’s and then in crushed candy canes, to rim glasses.

Pour 1 oz schnapps, 2 oz kahlua and 2oz of bailey’s in each glass. Top with 3 oz of hot chocolate mixture. Serve while warm.

Note: This recipe is for two glasses. To make more, just increase amounts for each glass.
