quick tip: trader joe's everything but the elote makes excellent popcorn topping
Not sure if you’ve noticed, but we’re really big on taco tuesday around here. Like every tuesday… and, while i don’t always do a mexican taco; i do cook that style the most often. Fajitas, chicken al carbon, ground beef, carnitas, etc. One of my favorite sides to make (and one of my favorite mexican sides, period) is elote corn.
It’s typically served street side, on a stick, and it’s this amazing amalgamation of spices, mayonnaise, butter, lime juice, cilantro, and cotija cheese that comes together perfectly. And i love it.
And now? trader joe’s (maker of my beloved onion salt) has come up with an everything but the elote seasoning that makes it all that much easier to put together. Perfection.
(It’s also pretty darn excellent on popcorn too!)
