smashburger tacos

Now that we have an outdoor griddle, it’s been a grilling life-changer. And we are constantly on the lookout for ways to utilize it.

Case in point, these smashburger tacos. Smashed on the griddle, smothered in shredded chedder, crisped tortilla, and loaded with all the things.

It’s safe to say that it’s a crowd pleaser. Even the child who normally eschews any sort of taco meat, devoured hers.

Ingredients:

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp cumin

2 tsp trader joe’s onion salt

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp white pepper

2lbs ground beef

shredded cheddar

street taco sized tortillas

shredded lettuce

sliced olives

chopped tomatoes

chopped onions

cilantro leaves

sliced avocados

salsa

sour cream

Directions:

Preheat outdoor (or indoor griddle) to medium high.

Mix together dried spices.

Form ground beef into rounded balls, and roll in spices.

Place balls on griddle. Let start to brown, just a few minutes, then smash.

Once patties have browned, flip.

Sprinkle with cheese.

When cheese has melted, top with tortilla, then flip. Top with more cheese.

Remove from griddle when cheese has melted.

Top with all the things. Of your choice of course.
