summer salty dog

Looking for a spin on a classic that’s just perfect for summer sipping?

Look no further than the salty dog.

If you aren’t aware, the salty dog is simply a greyhound with a salted rim.

Here I add some honey simple syrup, and splash of club soda to lighten up the cocktail, along with using some himalayan pink salt for the rim. It’s sweet, salty and tart all in one flavor bomb, that I kid you not tastes just like summer.

Ingredients:

juice of two grapefruits

himalayan pink course salt

1 oz honey simple syrup

2 Tbsp water

2 Tbsp honey

Heat until honey is dissolved and remove from heat

gin

ice

club soda

Directions:

Dip two high ball glasses in grapefruit juice. Rim with himalayan salt. Place a handful of ice in each glass.

Add grapefruit juice, gin, and simple syrup to a shaker. Top with ice. Shake until chilled and divide between the two glasses.

Top with a float of club soda, and serve.
