homemade pie crust
There is pie, and then there is pie. Distinguishable by the crust. And that’s not to say I’m above taking shortcuts and using a premade dough - because ain’t always got time for that - but if you’ve got the time. And, you want to hear people saying how much they love your pie? Well, then this is the crust for you.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup flour
8 Tbsp butter
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp salt
3 - 4 Tbsp water
Directions:
In a bowl combine flour and butter by hand until crumbly and sticks together.
Add egg yolk, salt and enough cold water to create a non sticky dough that you can form into a ball.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before rolling out.
Use and cook according to pie directions.
