air fried tostones
If you aren’t aware, tostones and little bits of fried plantain heaven. If you are, then you know how good these crispy snacks can be.
But did you know you can make them just as easily in the air fryer, without all the heavy oil? And with out the splatter mess?
Well you can… and you should.
Ingredients:
1 green plantain, peeled and cut into approximately 1 inch rounds
evoo
sea salt
Directions:
Preheat air fryer to 375.
Toss plantain rounds in enough evoo to coat, and a pinch of salt.
Air fry in a flat layer for 5 minutes. Flip and fry for 5 more minutes.
Remove from air fryer, and top with parchment. Flatten rounds using a meat pounder or heavy glass.
Return flattened plantains to air fryer and cook for 3 minutes on each side, or until crispy.
Serve immediately, sprinkled with sea salt.
Eat plain, serve with mojo pork, or top with any number of things. Homemade guac, pomogranate arils, and grated parm is a favorite around here.
