out and about: queenstown village weekend brunch
While we definitely miss the karl strauss days… we are super thankful that it was queenstown village that took its place.
And, while queenstown has an excellent happy hour, it also has a whole weekend brunch situation. Which is perfect for lazy saturdays and sundays when the kids sleep in for way too long and we want a little time out of the house.
Less than 5 minutes away, good food, mimosa flights… what’s not to love?
mimosa flight: choose three- orange, cranberry, pineapple, passionfruit, grapefruit, lavendar
harland hazy ipa
Is there anything better than a mimosa flight? A choose you’re own adventure mimosa flight is. We went with orange, passionfruit, and cranberry.
Perfect trifecta. And a great way to spend a slow sunday brunch out sipping.
Harland hazy is always a go to. So love any place that has it on the menu.
breakfast burrito: sausage, egg, chedder, peppers, onion, avocado crema, potato
Are you even a brunch spot in southern california if you don’t have a breakfast burrito on the menu?
And what I love about the breakfast burrito at queenstown, is that you don’t even have to ask for salsa on the side… it’s just there. And served with the most excellent breakfast potato and pepper hash.
strawberry chicken salad: spiach, pears, almonds, goat cheese, and sweet poppy seed dressing
One of my favorite things about going out to eat with jamie, is that he doesn’t shy away from a salad. To-go, take-out, in a restaurant at home.. as long as there is a form of protien, the man doesn’t mind a lettuce heavy dish. Which… thank goodness, because I really can’t eat a meal without some sort of green.
And this strawberry salad was no different - in fact, he found it and suggested it as part of our lunch line up.
And if you want to eat local flavor at it’s high point, grab a bowl for yourself. Packed with local farmed ingredients. This is the fresh salad you want on menu.
little bitties: two organic grass-fed beef sliders, onion mayo, cheddar cheese, sweet relish
I mean, there is just something about a grass fed and finished beef burger - especially when raised in new zealand. The meat just speaks for itself.
These are the most tender sliders, melty cheese, crisp pickles, and onion mayo… don’t even need ketchup. Literal perfect bite.
Not to mention skinny fries (or you can swap out for the fat fries!).
