You Need This: Potato Masher
I am a self-admitted mashed potato fiend. But just like anything else, mashed potatoes are subjective. Lumps or no lumps?
I don't like mine smooth and creamy. While I don't necessarily enjoy lumps, I do like mine with some texture, and a whole lot of flavor. While I could easily whip them up using a mixer (either hand-held or stand), I prefer to take the extra time to hand mash mine. I think it adds to the depth of flavor, and want texture in my potatoes, especially if they are standing up to short ribs, chicken marsala, or a roasted turkey.
