red enchilada sauce

Perfect for enchiladas, mexican pizza, taco night, chip dipping, etc.

Ingredients:

1 can tomato sauce

1/3 can water

1 Tbsp sugar

1 tsp white wine vinegar

1 tsp chili powder

3/4 tsp coarse salt, crumbled

1/8 tsp cayenne

1/4 tsp white pepper

1 1/2 tsp cumin

1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp granulated garlic

2 tsp trader joe’s onion salt

2 tsp balsamic vinegar

1 Tbsp ghee

Directions:

In a large sauce pan, whisk tomato sauce, sugar, vinegar, chili powder, salt, cayenne, white pepper, cumin, paprika, garlic, and onion salt together and bring to a boil.

Once boiling, turn down to simmer, and let sauce reduce and flavors meld for 30 minutes.

Whisk in balsamic vinegar and ghee.

Use, or refrigerate for future use.
