Yes, it’s true, tomatoes are tough to cut, and it’s even tougher to get perfect even slices out of them.

That’s why most people recommend cutting tomatoes with a serrated knife. And these are the best I’ve found.

Inexpensive, so they can be thrown in the dishwasher (a normal no-no for knives) and easily replaced, and heavy duty enough to handle cutting steak and bead— making them fall on my preferred kitchen appliance wish list.
