bagel-less salmon tartare

So, I’ve been playing around with the idea of making a bagel-less salmon tartare for brunch. Basically all the flavors I like to top my bagel with… without the bagel, and thought it would make the perfect upscaled mother’s day brunch item.

I love capers, shallots and dill. Crème fraiche, salmon, and cucumbers. And who can forget a heathy squeeze of lemon. All the flavors you want on your loaded bagel; but instead of a bagel, you’re scooping up your salmon tartare with a serrano pepper infused siete potato chip… all the spice that you need, without the extra bread getting in the way of your flavor filled bite.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups chopped sashimi grade salmon (approx 1/2 pound)

1 Tbsp thinly minced shallots

1 Tbsp minced dill

1/2 Tbsp minced chives

3 Tbsp minced cucumbers

1 Tbsp capers, chopped

2 Tbsp crème fraiche

juice of 1/2 lemon

Siete salt and vinegar chips with serrano peppers (or jalapeño flavored chip of your choice)

Directions:

Combine all ingredients together in a bowl (minus the chips). Scoop up tartare with chips.
